Entertainment Sources?

I know I posted yesterday but I felt like something needed to be said today. This is a little ranty but I don't care, this is ridiculous (if it wasn't before).
Fairly late in the day I watched a youtube video that outright angers me. Here is Philip DeFranco, a person who I continually land on when browsing videos. I quite like his content, where before I had no idea who he was nor what he did. At the moment, he does rapid fire news, inserts neat little quips, and is overall a great person to listen to. I don't know the guy personally, but I find that his method of looking at things is fantastic for people like me who hate the news. I don't watch TV. I live on Twitch and youtube, both fill my entertainment bar. Now youtube is jumping on the censorship and 1984 bandwagon because of profanity...? Are you kidding me?
I tend to watch a lot of people who are brutally honest with video games and news like: AlphaOmegaSin, Jim Sterling, The Angry Joe Show, and once in a while Joe Santiago. All of these guys curse a lot. I curse a lot too. There is no sugar coating the truth with any of these people and that is what I like about them. But here's youtube waving its giant schlong around going, "Hey guys. We know you watch everything on our website now, but we really feel as though we should shoot not only ourselves in the foot, but people who actually make a living with us." GG youtube.
Welcome to the American Dream... And might I say this is a 'first world problems' kind of situation: youtube demonitizes shit without giving content creators a choice in the matter. Since when did we become a culture of "I'm just going to do things and hope no one notices"? It's insensitive. It's not okay. And it's now a joke. Our whole culture has become 'dont step on peoples toes because they might hurt'. Instead of being honest and good people, we've got people who give excuses for why they are allowed to act in a particular way. It creates a society of people that doesn't bother to stand up for themselves nor THINK about the things they are doing to other people. Apparently accountability is too much to ask for...
This is a much much bigger issue than just youtube though. I'm just waiting to see which movie or book our society will become now. Will it be Equilibrium - emotionless zombies who aren't allowed to have art? or The Hunger Games - dividing into groups based on skill aptitudes to be pawns for the government? or 1984 - the government watches your thoughts and will persecute you on those thoughts? or Minority Report - where seers can tell if a person will commit a crime and then they do it? These movies/books serve two purposes: one is to entertain and the second is to comment on 'futuristic society' and it is downright scary. Even Wall-E is a bit of a scary concept. Do you want to be a mindless blob of flesh that literally does nothing but eat and sleep? I know you're tempted to say yes. I hate to break it to you but that's not a good thing! If the world is on that ship, I'd rather have the aliens pop onto the planet and take me off. Before I go a little beserk, here's the video:
You guys decide what to think about the above. /end rant
Anyways, I wrote the blog post about Can*Con yesterday. It had a brief little blurb on the new developments in my life. I wanted to ensure that readers knew a bit more about the Guests of Honour that will be in attendance at the event. I'm very excited for the event!
I spent the rest of the waking day working on an article. It wasn't going well for quite some time, because it's hard to express my differing feelings about being a female streamer/gamer. We'll see how I feel about the thing when I'm completely finished editing. (On a side note, editing at 3am is not a great plan...)
That's all I have for today!
Until next time,
Jagtress.
