Holy Smokes what a month...

At the beginning of it, I felt like I was going to kick ass in many things and then life decided to throw me a curve ball...

Many of you know that I decided to do NaNoWriMo for the second time in a row, but this time I would tackle my vampire novel. An almost complete rewrite (except for Chapter 1 because that's be beginning prompt if you will...) Unlike its original rendition, it has turned into a B rated book o.O

...

...

I don't own the rights to this picture. It was a random google image.

So that's going to alter into something less trashy once I get to editing. The plot of it is decent enough and I feel like it will be fun to work with the new additions, but it will need tonnes of work. TONNES.

*ahem* Anyways...

Starting the month November I was writing an article for EloTalk about three times a week, all self imposed, and life couldn't have gone more swimmingly. Thusly, I felt like I had life by the balls so to speak.

Then life happened... I felt a lump one day and panicked. Hard panicked. This lead me to going into the doctors a few times to get checked. I subsequently took a break from writing and from social media. Had a zillion breakdowns, etc... To make a long story short, things are fine. But I'll tell you, it scared the living shit out of me. I don't often tell people when I'm truly terrified of something, but that one changed my perspective on life for a while. If there was a nice way to keep calm, not suffering from terrible anxiety or something, that'd be great. It's really incapacitating. Trust me. I really don't do well in this situation.

I also managed to make it through all the birthdays including mine. I was taken to Mandarin twice in one week, and I honestly have to say it's one of my new favourite places. Everything about that restaurant makes me happy, from the food, to the staff, to the overall esthetics; it's fantastic. Definitely check it out if you haven't yet!

I volunteered for a bunch of things like Battle Royale X and C.O.N. (Creative Ottawa Nerds). Both went swimmingly well, despite my inability to swim! At Battle Royale I ran the Rocket League tournament. This is no shock considering I'm one of ye olde mods for Pro Rivalry League. I love and hate the game all at once. True story. Then at C.O.N. I helped with set up and tare down. I was asked to vend for the lovely S.M. Carriere, who had to teach for the first half of the event. I did what I could only having read half of the books. Also special shout out to Caroline Frechette who explained succinctly what Ethan Cadfael is about :D Many thanks!

Battle Royale at the Gonq

Jen, the master of the event was lovely to work with. Despite both of us having so little sleep the night before, we survived it. She checked on everyone to make sure that all was well during the day :) That was fantastic - and not something you get from larger events. Massive <3 and thank you for letting me help out!

After a week of not writing I was only about 10k words. Somehow I've managed to do 44k to date, which means on the last day of Nano, I will make up the 6k words needed to win. Most people would find that challenging, but doing 6k in one day isn't too hard. I would struggle to keep up that pace though... It's something I can strive towards.

In non writing news, I've become oddly addicted to a shooter. Anyone that knows me well know that I don't tend to like shooters. Warframe seems to fit this weird balance where I can create my own weapons and frames from materials collected. It's not a linear boring shooter but it makes up for it by being grindy as hell. To compensate for the boring grindfest, I only play it with friends - friends who are much better at these things than I. What is happening to me?! GAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Soon we will be in the month of December and of course that means Xmas is upon us! I have a few things to attend and its going to be busy, but at least I won't be attempting to write a zillion words at the same time!

That's it for now.

Be awesome and have a great week peeps!
