Good morning wonderful peeps!

I say morning because it's just past midnight and you know what that means? Civilization VI is officially launched!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Normally I don't get to play games on launch day due to lacking funds. However, I typically don't let that bother me. I wait it out until I can get the things I'm interested in, and then get them at that time. It just happens to be that this is a particularly difficult time of year, makes that harder. So, I was expecting to be excited for the game, but not be able to get it for quite some time. I try to be humble about these things...

The download just finished and I'm super happy about it. But, I shall at least wait until I'm done writing this out before playing. PATIENCE!

Sorta reminds me of Civ!

I'm also happy for another reason. One of my colleagues just landed a writing position with a prestigious company. We're now at three or four people who have been noticed by the writing overlords because of their contributions to EloTalk. I'm very proud of my colleagues and presume that in the future I will start to see the same things. For me, that is highly motivating to continue improving my craft.

I have yet another novel idea in the works, on top of the two I'm currently working on. And it's exciting to have ideas about stories you want to tell people about!

Right now I'm at three novels. One is Agnus the Beast, which follows my dwarven fighter from a D&D game I played a few years ago. The second is my vampire novel, which I finally know what I'm doing. See, I had this general idea in mind and after rewriting it a zillion times, I figured out what I struggled with. I can't wait to get back to it. Also, rewriting is important because I now have been to the country that the protagonist originates from. (That happened by accident.. it was a car trip and it was wonderful). The third book idea is going to be a dramatic type of novel, where readers will follow a person in therapy - not an ordinary type... I haven't fully fleshed out the details of it. I have the general ending concept, the two main characters, and the theme; I don't yet have the actions to get to the end. An action novel is a little easier to deal with because its simpler to move forward with direct conflict, in my opinion. This novel has more to do with inner conflicts. The struggle has to come across clearly otherwise the readers will get bored. And because of that, it will be more challenging to write - but that's part of the point, to challenge oneself. It should be interesting.

After stewing over a short story piece for a month, I'm finally submitting it to the contest. There isn't a cost for submission on it, which I had talked about previously, but I call it a win. I'm proud of this less than 1k words - a milestone I never thought I could achieve... a *short* piece. O.O

Anyways, I have a Rival Replay to write and some Civilization VI to conquer!! (I should be streaming it tomorrow. You'll get to see the new hair colour!)

Until next time!

Jagtress.
