The Perils of Pantsing

Good Evening lovely peeps!

It's been quite the interesting week filled with catching up on all the writing newsletters I'm subscribed to, figuring out how and where to move to, more crock pot shenanigans, and lots of writing!

First, during the week my roomie decides to tell me, while I'm streaming no less, that I need to move in a month and a half. Wonderful. That's a move every year in the last two or three... Welcome to my chaos. In effort to thwart such a thing from continually happening, I'm going to take charge of my life and just figure out if I can find a one bedroom apartment. I make no money and don't really have options but I'm tired of this. My advice? Don't get stuck in situations you don't want to be in, ever. Get out there and do things to prevent this. Trust me. You'll thank me later.

While dealing with this wonderful thorn in my side, I've been reading and watching more things about the writing profession. I've recently come across useful videos and interviews of Chandler Bolt. This has prompted me to write a non fiction book that I can get together fairly quickly. The mind mapping is already done. The general outline is mostly figured out. Now I get to sit down and write. Actions which will immediately follow this blog post!

Most of the day I've spent staring at my backwards outline of Agnus the Beast and... ugh... SAVE ME. There are a few scenes that are redundant, scenes that need to be combined or separated, and I feel like a few things need to be added somehow. I posted the outline through my Beta Reader group (which is a closed group btw) to see what they have to say in terms of the flow. If any of you wonderful readers are interested in helping me organize my mess, let me know and I can add you to my Beta group. I don't post in there often so it's not going to be a daunting task. I try to be good to my readers because I know that a 80k + manuscript takes time to read. (This is not that high yet. I bare bones a novel and then add information. It's about 64k right now.)

Looking at the outline has also told me that I'm a terrible plotter. Although Pantsing has its challenges, as we can clearly see. I'm living proof! Once I find my system for this, the process will be much smoother. Hopefully before I get to editing my vampire novel!

Are there parts of the writing process you struggle with? Are there people you follow that are good for people like me who want only small chunks of information at a time?

Drop me a message some time! I'd love to get to know my readers better :)

If only I was this stylish when I pants novels!

Until next time,

Susan.
